Project Beloved takes Winter Park

Every now and again, you have the good fortune to cross paths with some truly exceptional people. People who become your people. People who get you and love you....in spite of it all. For my family, Winter Park, Florida is home to many of THOSE people.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by one of my WP peeps. She was calling to say that there were a group of women in WP who wanted to do something to support Project Beloved. She wanted to know what I thought about their idea. To start, I was floored and amazed at what a generous idea they had. Then again...I should not have been too surprised. These were my people and have been my people for a very long time. Without hesitation I told her I thought it was a great idea and asked if I could come too!

I am about to head to the airport to return home and can say my heart is full. It has been a whirlwind couple of days seeing so many friendly, familiar faces. I have laughed and I have cried. I have felt love and support in a very tangible way.

Needless to say, the gathering that was organized was a real success. They thought of every single detail and it was genuinely a good time. There was enough food to feed a small army and even cookies with the Project Beloved logo. At the end of the night, we raised close to $7000!!!! I knew we would raise money. I had no idea we would raise that much money. It has been such a great visit with my people, and I look forward to getting busy #changingtheconversation and #empoweringsurvivors

Thank you, WP!

Much love,
